Different era but anyone who enjoyed ‘Becoming Queen’ by Kate Williams, should know about the display at the National Portrait Gallery.

Queens in Waiting in Room 16 (entrance is free), began last November and closes 9 September 2012.

‘…the display traces the idealised nature of the imagery used to represent a young woman in direct line to the throne at a time when the nation tired of the debauched Prince Regent’s rule.’

On 17th January there is a free talk on the subject by Ruth Brimacombe at 3pm.
