British Museum – French portrait drawings from Clouet to Courbet


I am looking forward to going to this free exhibition at the British Museum. In Room 90, ‘French portrait drawings from Clouet to Courbet’ opened on 8th September and runs until 29th January 2017.

After reading ‘The Rival Queens: Catherine de’ Medici, Her Daughter Marguerite de Valois, and the Betrayal That Ignited a Kingdom’ by Nancy Goldstone, I am interested to see Clouet’s ‘drawing of the French Renaissance queen Catherine de’Medici, shown for the first time’ (according to the Evening Standard).
