Speech from the Scaffold


Lady Jane Grey's speech from the scaffold was written down, so copies could be circulated after her death. In Richard Davey's 'The Nine Days' Queen' , the speech differs slightly from other sources. He quotes from an account of the speech by a 'Philippa de Clifford' a supposed relative of Jane. Davey states that the authenticity of this source is doubtful.
